About

Dlela Lombard is a native german, self-taught visionary surrealist with profound transpersonal mystic experience, a photo and digital artist/ painter and photoshop master who transcends mediums, defying conventional boundaries combining traditional methods and techniques with digital manipulation to create imaginative and inspiring works. With a scientific non conformist approach, she transforms formless photo pixels into new imaginative forms.Drawing from photographic development, surrealism and text-to-image techniques, Lombard's creative process is an evolution of human imagination beyond the direct machine output allowing her to discover her visual style with a wide perspective about many 'things' yet with a main interest in nature and its habitats; especially in the beginning phase of generating pieces with ai seeing was as if shooting with a camera motor drive; the association was immediate because of its fastness from one picture to the next;

With an ai picture generator I build up my own style beginning in march 2023 ; through experiments with prompting in a surrealist text automatism using english vocabulary on a daily basis I began and with a fiction painter name (does not exist) in combination with photo based scenic text; I always keep theat name; only later I added 1-3 deceased painters to sculpt the creations further.I been moving the outputs back and forward to create diversity and through my fiction painter name it evolved into my own style;I tested it by leaving this very fiction name out.I done digital transformation in Photoshop before without AI for years as well as 'e-mail linguistics' and it may have helped to evolve it into prompting.The results are mainly digital paintings because I did not focus on photography with ai ... making it a sensual process in a flow, not an academic experiment and this way could find my own style.

discovery of new forms in Photoshop before knowledge of AI through a non conformist process and approach which was an idea popping up in my mind as a light bulb before I heared about AI.Now with ai picture generation I can see clearly that it is also what this machine does but not only.It is a pure surrealist automatism,an avant-garde because it happened as a liberation from various antisocial constraints.

Photo Library Arcangel 'Book Cover Art' scouting own models outdoors with focus on crime related themes with a Fuji Finepix. Compact not a high end equipment. After I left the library I could take the self financed material further into the final photo-editing as a free body of work.This is how I could get a feel for it also by dropping crime themes, the collective unconscious; it was getting a bit too dark to see.Out of this chapter there was then the discovery of new rare digital forms arising.This is how I learned photo editing.

Childhood trauma under 6 years, the shadow self; a sudden Kundalini rise at 30 initiating a rebirth,the end of the past and the beginning of a new life, a renaissance.I was not a student of Francis Coppola but a student of my father who was a film director and screenwriter, an actor and rebel who learned in the US. From early years on despite his pitfalls in the family he managed to raise my awareness as a preparation for later awareness, a kind of raw basic foundation for creativity.
